No Waste Production

No Waste Production is a philosphy about building buildings without producing any physical waste - neither at the construction site nor at the manufacturer. The philosphy is highly related to Lean Construction, but with emphasis on eliminating waste, not reducing it. By focusing on waste elimination it is clear that new ideas and practices has to be introduced, rather than improving on the existing ones - which lies in the heart of what technology is all about.

The benefits of eliminating physical waste are vast. Some of which are reduced material costs, time savings in construction and more control over the building in general. These are all benefits which a number of digital solutions has promised for years, but it hasn't been implemented by contractors systematically in any great scale. The reasons for this may be that the suppliers aren't ready, the contracts are complicated or simply that the industry is highly conservative in general. By eliminating physical waste in all parts of the industry and not just parts of it, it is seen that productivity and profitability will increase across the board.
